Hoping to lose weight this season?

It might help to try something new. Running, cycling, and using an elliptical machine are some of the best cardio workouts for weight loss.

Read on to learn more about some of our favorite weight loss exercises—all made even more easier with a bottle of Truvy Heart and Hydration™.

    1. Jump Rope

Jumping rope is one of the most effective full-body cardio workouts you can try. It’s low cost and requires only a single investment: a jump rope.

This high aerobic activity is one of the best cardio workouts for weight loss because it’s great for conditioning, helping to elevate your fitness level and prepare your body for more high-intensity forms of exercise.

Suggested Workout: While any jump rope exercise can help improve your endurance and flexibility, aim for short durations in the beginning.

To get started, jump rope for one to three minutes at a time without stopping. Each time you work out, push yourself to jump longer and faster. Gradually work up to 15-30 minutes.

    2. Burpees

Here at Truvy®, we love cardio workouts for weight loss that leave us breathless. No matter how fit you are, doing sets of burpees will likely be enough to have you on the floor (and feeling incredible for your accomplishment!).

Suggested Workout: To do a burpee, stand straight with your arms up above your head. Squat down with your palms flat on the ground. Hop your legs back into the plank position and then jump back into your squat and return to your starting position. Repeat until exhausted. If you're new to burpees, shoot for thirty reps in succession.

    3. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

HIIT of any kind is clinically proven to burn calories fast. If you’re short on time, HIIT is your best choice for weight loss and strength training.

Suggested Workout: Any HIIT exercise you choose will work, as most of the metabolic advantages of HIIT lie with repetition. With HIIT, you alternate between intense, 30 second to 3-minute workouts and 15-45-second rest periods.

    4. Rowing

Rowing isn’t just for your arms—it’s actually one of the most challenging core workouts you can do. And it’s great for both those new to exercising and seasoned athletes.

Rowing, much like cycling, is low impact, which means it causes minimal strain on your body. The average rowing machine is great for calorie burning; you can burn as many as 250 calories in just 30 minutes.

Suggested Workout: Warm up with one minute of light rowing (18 strokes per minute) and then increase your speed to 22 strokes per minute for one minute, followed by a minute of hard rowing (26 strokes per minute) and then another minute of light rowing again. After you warm up, alternate between 10 seconds of light rowing followed by 20 seconds of hard rowing for at least eight reps.

    5. Boxing

Nothing gets your heart pumping like an hour of boxing or kickboxing. Boxing involves the aerobic and anaerobic states, resulting in a well-balanced and invigorating workout that uses every major muscle group.

Like other combat-related sports, boxing challenges you to engage muscles you don’t normally use. Boxing also offers variety and an exciting social dynamic—the boxing community is a tight-knit group of fitness enthusiasts who will encourage you to stick with your training and reach your weight loss goals.

Suggested Workout: If you’re new to the hobby, nothing beats an in-person boxing or kickboxing class at your local gym. But you can also get started on your own at home with workout videos, as many beginner sessions won’t require a bag or gloves.
